Meditation There are dozens of meditative practices. Each requires the deliberate use of attention to focus and calm ones mind. Some things a person would generally focus their attention on may be symbols, sounds, colors, breath, uplifting thoughts, spiritual realms, etc. The goal of meditative practice is to strengthen a beings' ability to control, quiet and/or use their mind. Meditation is also practiced to extend spiritual growth, becoming more conscious, and strengthening our inner spirit. More recently, meditation has become a valuable tool for finding a peaceful oasis of relaxation and stress relief in a demanding, fast-paced world. Uses today may include healing, emotional cleansing and balancing, deepening concentration and insight, manifesting change, developing intuition, unlocking creativity, exploring higher realities, and finding inner guidance.
